Door Closers: Precision for Secure Closure
A door closer is a spring-loaded hydraulic device that ensures doors close automatically. The most common type is the surface-mounted door closer, which is installed on the surface of the door or header.
To adjust the door closer effectively:

Start small: Begin by turning the adjustment screw no more than 1/8 of a turn.

Clockwise turns slow the door closer down.

Counterclockwise turns speed it up.
After each adjustment, step back and observe the door as it opens and closes. This ensures the door is functioning as intended, without being too fast or too slow.
The primary purpose of the door closer is to ensure that the door closes securely, especially in fire-rated situations or to keep unwanted entry at bay. If the door fails to close properly, or if it slams shut, it may be time for a replacement.

Crash Bars: Efficient Emergency Exit Systems
A crash bar, also known as a panic exit device, panic bar, or push bar, is a safety mechanism designed to allow users to exit quickly and without obstruction.
By simply pushing a bar, the latch mechanism is retracted, enabling the door to be opened easily. This type of door hardware is essential in emergency exits, ensuring that individuals can exit a building quickly and safely in the event of an emergency.
Panic hardware is often used in high-traffic areas or public buildings, where fast and unimpeded access is crucial for safety.
